Help with selection of teaching staff
The department’s staffing procedure provides opportunity for some teaching positions to be filled through advertisement and merit selection procedure. For such positions we form a panel comprised generally of a convener, teacher representative and a parent representative.
We are seeking the support of parents who could help us out with merit selection panels. The commitment needed in any one selection panel will require:
1. A short meeting to submit the advertisement.
2. A half day to shortlist applicants and recommend for interview.
3. A half day to conduct interviews to identify a recommended applicant.
All panel members are required to be trained. If you were trained at your child’s previous school, the certificate of training is all that is needed. If not trained, the school will be conducting a training session for parents at school in term four.
