Make a Difference Day

Ashleigh and Marcus of Year 10 were fortunate to be involved in a civics and citizenship initiative at NSW Parliament House -Make a Difference Day. Representatives from all over Sydney were invited to listen to key note speakers and have the opportunity to discuss and workshop contemporary issues relevant to young people today.

This year the focus was on the 50th anniversary of the 1967 referendum. A highlight was listening to the experiences of Dr Lilon Bandler whose mother Faith Bandler, was an activist for ATSI civil rights and who played an integral role in the campaign for the 1967 referendum.  A great day with inspirational messages and ideas for making a difference, big or small ,in their communities.
