Improving School Infrastructure

Key Points

  • The quality of our school infrastructure is safeguarded by our Asset Services Officer, Con Schembri from the Department’s Asset Management Unit who regularly oversees and pursues improvements for our school. 
  • The Department is funding and managing a significant upgrade of the roofs and gutters on all main buildings in the school with Koolwater Plumbing contractors providing a professional approach in both construction and with helping the school maintain continuity of lessons during construction.

We do not often recognise those department officers and contractors who provide support to our school. They work quietly in the background, providing advice to the school and working closely to ensure major school infrastructure is in sound and safe condition to allow school operation.

This term has seen considerable progress around the school with a major upgrade to roofs and gutters. Con Schembri from the department’s Asset Management Unit works closely with George Harb from Koolwater Plumbing to oversee a state government upgrade and improvement of our buildings. Their efforts to bring the best possible outcomes with the project is balanced through great customer service and collaboration with the school to ensure that the construction work scheduling is guided by the operational needs of the school and the day to day learning needs of our students.

Any construction work has its disruption and staff and students have worked well around changes that have occurred. We are coming close to its completion and staff and students are already applauding the quality improvements that have been made.
