Since being inducted at the end of last term, our newly elected Prefects have been working together to define their student leadership voice within our school. They are a connected group keen to develop and lead new initiatives that help bring about the positive cultures that have supported each them throughout high school. They demonstrate a strong desire to give back and work within their school, leading other students across all year groups to support their academic and social journey through high school.
Recent workshops have allowed them to explore the concept of school culture and student voice and collaboratively hone in on achievable ideas that contribute to supporting the wider student body as well as their own year group in a very busy and critical year as HSC students.
Broadly, a few themes have emerged from their work that include:
- Strengthening the focus on higher expectations of learning and achievement.
- Enhancing respectful relationships across the school through activities promoting upstanding behaviour.
- Planning year group activities and fund raising events to support Year 12’s final year of school.
Congratulations to our Prefects on their work at these workshops and the planning completed so far. Thank you also to Mr Marsh, Mrs Osborne, Mrs Edwards and Mrs Kay for their parts in supporting their workshop.
