Year 10 PASS Camp

On Wednesday 6 December 40 year 10 PASS students along with Mr Wilson, Mr Fallah and Mrs McGovern ventured out to Bonnie Vale camping grounds in our very own National Park for a 3 day camp. They got to enjoy spectacular weather, beautiful grounds and some fantastic activities.

All students were divided into groups, and all group members interacted extremely well together while setting up their tents, cooking their own food and through their positive participation in the activities organised for them.  Both the students and the teachers thoroughly enjoyed this outdoor experience and the opportunity to participate in fun activities such as:

Fishing: A professional fishing instructor from “Young Guns Fishing” showed the students some tricks for fishing success, including some good techniques for baiting and casting. We had some very proud students who caught some good-sized whiting, which they then cooked and enjoyed for dinner, while Ashleigh M taught others his fine filleting skills.

Canoeing: All students got to fine tune their canoeing skills while enjoying the stunning waterways. Some even had a go at stand-up paddle boarding with Mrs McGovern.

The Year 10 PASS camp is always a highlight of students’ time at Gymea and our Year 10 students loved this unique experience. Many thanks to Mr Wilson for organising this camp and to Mr Fallah and Mrs McGovern for helping to make it such a huge success.
