Congratulations to the PTC class for their work and dedication this year so far. It was nice to see an article about the students in the course in the Leader recently.
Following on with their extensive training students have moved into practising their skills with sections of work placement within the school.
Our PTC class have successfully run training sessions for year 7, 8, 9 and 10 sport groups as well as the lunchtime gym club. Some of the activities include spin bike sets, boxercise, hydro-gym, agility, speed work, body weight strength, circuit and power sets.
The students successfully demonstrated the knowledge and skills they had learnt in class while tutoring their younger students. I was impressed with their leadership skills and the mentoring roles they have taken on with some of the students. I have had requests from school sport groups to be trained by this class on a regular basis.
In the next couple of weeks these students will complete an Applied First Aid certified training course and a Level 1 Rugby League Coaching Certificate.
