Safe Driving Education: U-Turn the Wheel

On Friday 21 October year 11 participated in U-Turn the wheel. This program runs for the day and is an important community event co-ordinated by Rotary club and Sutherland Shire council to support our students as young drivers.  Representatives from Police Highway Patrol, NSW Ambulance Services, St George Youth Services, Local driving instructors and the NRMA presented a series of engaging, informative and meaningful workshops to students on issues facing young drivers.

Our students enjoyed the areas covered in these workshops and actively participated in quality discussions throughout the day.  Workshops included:

  • Keeping your Ls and Ps by the NSW Police
  • Driver distractions by Peer Support, St George Youth Services
  • Picking up the pieces by NSW Ambulance
  • New Driver Survival by Trent Driving School
  • Being fit to drive by Project Ready, St George Youth Services
  • Buying a Safe Used Car by NRMA Motoring and Services

Presenters were most complimentary of our students and school. Thanks to Mrs Noble and Mr Ellis for organising.
