Supporting Student Assessment

Many of our students have already begun working on assessment tasks in their courses. These assessments are not just a measure of student performance but are an integral part of the learning program and experiences for our students. You will find students assessment notifications are much more precise and consistently presented this year and provide clear guidance on what learning the assessment connects with, why it is important, steps to complete the task and how marks will be awarded to measure student learning.

Outline of topics and Assessments for each course

The description of tasks and the outline of topics for the year along with the expectations with assessments are included in the guidelines for assessment that have been distributed to each student. These are also available on the website under learning for each student. Follow the links to year groups above.

Improving Student Writing

To reinforce and lead students through improved literacy in writing, all assessment tasks in years 7-10 contain a literacy component within the assessment. This approach provides students with a grid to guide their approach to writing to better perfect their assessment response, and provides the teacher a clear opportunity to provide feedback to the student in terms of their literacy.
