During Visual Arts, Year 8 had to construct a Shrunken Head made out of earthenware clay. The criteria, to give the Shrunken Head a head piece and a neck. The head was made by using two pinch pots combined one on top of the other. Using our fingers and other utensils we had to shape the head and give it facial features. The neck was made by putting coils together and adding it to the bottom of the head. The head piece was made by choice, the students own creations. Head pieces made included hair-bows, berets, top-hats and straw hats along with others. The completed works were painted with acrylic paints or glazed and refired in the kiln.
