On Monday 22 February we welcomed Cronulla Sharks Development Officer Huw Ellis and NRL player Luke Lewis to our school, as part of the Sharks’ Community Carnival, to speak with our Year 7 and Year 8 students. The focus of the presentation was setting goals and achievement. The main speaker, Luke Lewis is a current Sharks NRL player and NSW and Australian representative. Luke is not only a talented NRL player but a motivating and engaging presenter and fantastic role model for our students. Luke’s key messages about the importance of setting goals and how this is the key to achieving your dreams was well received by our students and staff. Our kids do better and enjoy successes when these are planned around personal goals and longer term aspirations.
Representatives from the Sharks visit schools as part of their annual Community Carnival. Sharks NRL players and Development Officers run sessions in schools that spread positive messages about healthy living, goal setting and achievement. We were fortunate to be part of this fantastic program. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. A huge thank you to Huw Ellis, Luke Lewis from the Sharks and Mr Fallah from our PDHPE faculty who co-ordinated this event.
