Stressful! Draining. Tiring. These are the words that come to mind when asked what it was like to be the Principal for a Day.
We were given this opportunity as a part of Education Week. This included an agenda that was set out for us with tasks that we were required to complete by the end of the day, as well as executive meetings, meetings and phone calls with staff and parents and greeting the Director of Port Hacking and guest students from neighbouring schools.
After the countless number of phone calls, visits to the office and unexpected interruptions, it is a wonder that we completed any of the work set out for us!
Although it was stressful and mentally exhausting, it was a fantastic experience that we will never forget. We now have a greater appreciation and understanding for the hard work and dedication that not only a Principal, but all executive staff must deal with on a daily basis.
