Congratulations to all the Peer2Peer students. Our Year 10 mentors and Year 7 students have been working hard for the last few weeks in the library. Year 10 began this program by nominating to be role models and student mentors. They participated in a gruelling day of training – and pizza – and have gained skills in peer reading and organisation. The next session was an orientation, where Year 7 and 10 students met for the first time and everyone learnt a few things about each other – and their teachers – that they didn’t already know. This group of students has developed a great rapport and are working towards individual student needs and goals. Each week I see our Year 7 students benefitting from these fantastic volunteers and our Year 10 students able to rise to the challenge of taking on extra responsibility and guiding the learning of another student. Well done to all for your great positive attitudes.
