We launched into the school year with a series of presentations to each of year groups that focused on making the best out of the year and striving for success. At Gymea we focus on those positive behaviours that reinforce safe, respectful and successful learning and our students across all years continue to raise the bar and maturely focus on their learning and safely and respectfully getting on at school. We do enjoy a safe and respectful school and student pride in their school and themselves is instrumental in making Gymea a great place to learn.
Each student was issued with information about their courses and assessments for the year and course outlines of what they will be learning. In these booklets was a set of expectations on how to approach assessments and their learning. Discussion at our year meetings focused on student organisation and doing their best. Their success is strongly supported by the communication and encouragement from both school and home. To help with this, the school website provides ongoing posts of assessments and other learning information including the assessment outlines for the year.
