Official Opening of our Technology Centre

Gymea Technology High School now offers its students deeper opportunities for learning through what can be described as the best technology facility in any New South Wales department high school. The centre has been a school community driven project and has been designed and developed in a way that enables teachers across the school to engage students in learning through technology in creative and collaborative ways to enhance their learning experiences.

We thank Eleni Petinos, Member for Miranda for officially opening the centre and to the department senior officers, Mark Barraket, Director Port Hacking network of schools, and Kathleen Donahue, Director of Learning and Innovation from our state head office who supported this official opening. Our visitors were impressed the moment they entered the centre but were absolutely dazzled by the variety of activities and the explanations from our students about the diverse range of technology available.

Students spoke so well and engaged our visitors in discussion about the centre’s design and the fantastic opportunities they have here at the school, particularly in this case, through the diversity of what they can do in this technology centre.

Our students across the school do make us very proud in what they continue to work towards with their own learning and development but also with the deep affiliation and sense of connectedness they have with their school. We are all very lucky to enjoy such a wonderful group of young people working together in what I know to be a great school.
