What a great success was had with this year’s multicultural day. Students had the opportunity to visit a range of activities to experience aspects of many cultures including Greek dancing and cooking, playing the didgeridoo, sampling food from the United Kingdom and playing Chinese games. The school was treated to a rock music and dance performance at lunch time as well.
Hospitality students competed in a masterchef challenge The hospitality students worked like crazy in planning and executing the challenge and judging from the crowds on the day, it was clear that so many wanted to taste the food from the challenge. The initiative certainly raised further excitement and engagement with the day.
Celebrating the diversity in this way creates pride across the school and builds a deeper appreciation of different cultures within Gymea. Congratulations to the Student Leadership Assembly planning over a long period of time to bring about this day.
