Last term students from Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 went to Brasserie Bread Bakery in Banksmeadow.
On arrival we received a sample of one of their products, hazelnut croissants. We then split into two groups, A and B.
Group A went to make two products, a 3 flavoured bread plait and a pizza scroll. For health and safety reasons we all had to wear hair nets.
Group B went on a tour of the bakery. We saw production rooms, the huge ovens and the pastry freezer. We were even allowed to go inside the freezer.
At the end of the day we were allowed to go to the café part of the bakery and buy their products. We were also presented with gift bags with two pieces of bread in it, an information booklet and a few recipes.
Overall, it was a blast and we had an amazing day.
