Gymea Technology High School serves the educational needs of 702 students. The school has a strong focus on integrating the areas of student learning and welfare. This has resulted in the achievement of a substantial improvement in student academic results from Primary School to the Higher School Certificate. Current enrolment data shows that the school is attracting students from over thirty different primary schools with approximately 70% coming from out of the local area.
Our research indicates that parents and students are selecting the school because of its reputation in the community for providing excellent learning opportunities for their children underpinned by strong supportive student welfare programs. The school is consistently selected to showcase its technology programs to visitors from overseas as well as from all parts of Australia. It has been recognised as an outstanding school in technology, as it uses both Apple Operating Systems and Microsoft Operating System, making it a cross-platform school. In recent years there has been a strong emphasis on the performing arts, an area in which the school is held in high regard, particularly for its drama, dance, music and public speaking. The school is supported by strong community expectations related to student academic outcomes, school uniform and appropriate student behaviour. Our agreed school purpose is to prepare students for their future by providing the very best educational opportunities to ensure the development of creative, resourceful and adaptable adults.
