On Friday, 29th November, a LIVE Game Training Roadshow was held at Gymea Technology High School. 50 of our students, from Year 7 to 11, attended this live educational event. Jeff Ayling, a professional software developer, introduced students to the world of video game creation and shared some valuable trade secrets on how to become part of the billion dollar gaming industry.
The event was all about getting students away from playing games and teaching them to write code and develop commercial quality games for the major operating systems, mobile devices and game consoles such as Apple, Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox360, etc. These skills relate directly to students Software Development Curriculum and the session is both analytical in relation to writing code and very creative when learning to build a huge 3D Game World.
There is also a competition for the students to create a 3D web based game using a variety of resources provided by the Game Training Team. The student who creates the most fun, interactive and creative game wins an Apple Ipad mini courtesy of Game Training. Further details can be found on GTHS Moodle. Best of luck.
