Individual contemporary devices are a part of all of our lives and are used in so many different ways that reflect our personal needs and styles. This is no different to using contemporary digital devices at Gymea Technology High School where students are encouraged and supported to use their individual devices to assist there learning and self organisation. The project is called the Connect2learn project and is seeing increasing use of devices seamlessly in classrooms in a constructive and respectful manner.
To assist students in maintaining connection and enabling their understanding of the connection to the school’s Wifi network, a student team make up of students form years 7 to 10 have successfully moved about classes to help their peers connect and access resources and show them how to best manage their device to maintain these connections. They are called our C2L champions and will continue to build their knowledge and develop valuable interpersonal and leadership skills as they maintain an active role in our school keeping students and staff connected.
