Our year 8, 9 and 10 students have just about completed their subject choices for courses for 2016. We now begin sorting these out using our timetable software to determine the best fit of subjects based on what the students have elected to study.
Our information night last week provided valuable information to our students and parents of year 8 and 10 students and the open night that followed was a great success. The open Night allowed students and families to walk through the new student learning environments and see the design2learn classrooms while meeting teachers and head teachers to ask those critical questions about courses to assist with those important decisions for year 11 and 12 studies. It was a great way to gain that deeper understanding of courses in addition to what is available in the subject course outlines.
Our executive have each assisted in interviewing year 10 students individually and engaged in discussion about aspirations and strengths and interests as they chose their subjects for year 11 and 12. Helping students make the right choices for subjects was our objective and we were very happy to see so many parents involved in the process and the maturity and focus of year 10 in preparing and undertaking this process.
