For the third year running, the Year 10 Drama elective class worked towards and presented a full scale theatre production. This year the vibrant and vicious “Living with Lady Macbeth” was performed for three audiences in our school Amphitheatre and included a cast and crew of over 20 students. Drama is growing in our school as this is highest number of students to be involved in our recent history.
Our story wove the tale of a young ordinary and rather dull girl who wants to play the role of Lady Macbeth.. but no one is confident she can play the role. What results is a rather intense audition scene where plain old Lily threatens her astonished classmates and teacher with a dagger! Year 10 rehearsed and refined our production for half of Term 3 and 4. We performed a preview production for Kirawee Public students and the year 9 elective Drama class and three public performances on Friday and Saturday.
Thank you for the dedication and commitment of numerous staff and students in the process of “Living with Lady Macbeth” and for the continued support of the creative arts. A lot of work goes into these shows and the results; whilst seemingly minuscule, live on in the memories of those involved for years to come.”
Congratulations to Ms Osborne whose passion and drive is seeing a wonderful growth in Drama at Gymea Technology High School.
