Recently, Mr Nicholas Liley and Mrs Katherine Edwards received awards at the Ultimo Director Awards in the executive teacher category. They each received a plaque and a citation for their outstanding contributions and achievements in the school.
Mr Liley has immersed himself and has been the pivotal driver in whole school initiatives beyond his work as Head Teacher PDHPE. These initiatives have brought about significant changes within the school to support student social well-being and academic success. The school’s design2learn program has seen physical transformations of traditional secondary classrooms. This is an area in which Nicholas has taken a strong lead to effectively manage the allocation of resources to enable changes within a busy school environment but more importantly continues to work with staff across faculty areas in a sense of collaboration and learning to delve into pedagogical practice.
Mrs Edwards has undertaken the head teacher role in a relieving capacity and has successfully led her faculty through changes in pedagogy that is increasing student engagement and parent involvement. Mrs Edwards continues to support whole school initiatives that have engaged staff across the school to work beyond what they do in the classroom to work together and lead aspects of programs that have enabled student active citizenship and deepening a sense of true multiculturalism in the school through the international visit programs and other student initiatives.
Congratulations to both Mr Liley and Mrs Edwards on their awards.
