The final phase in the refurbishment of our Technology Centre is nearing completion.
Phase 2 of the Technology Centre began earlier this year. All of our computer rooms have been located in the one area with room 16 being relocated from the Maths area to complete the creation of our Technology Centre. Walls in the corridor have been either removed or cut down as part of the new contemporary design. To encompass the principles of the Design2Learn program the furniture was upgraded, glass panels were installed in some walls, notice boards mounted and the area painted. A new student centered server room has been built to facilitate student work with computer construction and network building. Power to the area was upgraded and a new Technology Area server room installed. New monitors and Mac computers were purchased and installed to provide state of the art hardware in this area. One half of the area offers an open learning space allowing for collaborative learning on two 140 cm television monitors and three interactive desks. A 3-D printed has been ordered and will be installed soon. Glass doors have been installed to enclose the area.
There is still some work to do and procedures to put in place but it is already a fantastic technology space for use across the school. Many thanks to all the staff and students who have contributed to the development of this fantastic resource.
